WHA Industrial Development Public Company Limited (WHAID) has reinforced its leadership in attracting high-value Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and elevating Thailand’s industrial standards. Led by Mr. Pajongwit Pongsivapai, Chief Executive Officer, and Ms. Ladda Rojanavilaivudh, Chief Commercial Officer, alongside the executive team, WHAID recently attended the foundation stone-laying ceremony for the Histar Intelligence Technology Thailand factory at WHA Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate 5 (WHA ESIE 5) in Rayong Province.

Histar Intelligence Technology (Thailand) Co., Ltd. is a subsidiary of COSMOPlat under the Haier Group, a global leader in smart controller solutions from China with over 30 years of expertise. This new investment, valued at over THB 2.2 billion on a 34-rai plot, features a cutting-edge design aligned with the world-class "Lighthouse Factory" model. The facility fully integrates advanced digital technologies and automation into its production processes.

The facility will serve as a key manufacturing hub for smart controllers catering to next-generation industries, including smart appliances, automotive electronics, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, and energy management systems. This factory not only provides manufacturing solutions for Haier, but also serves other leading brands, including GE Appliances, LG, Welly Electrical Appliance, and SN. In its initial phase, the plant targets an annual production capacity of up to 22 million units, expected to generate a production value of over THB 800 million. It will also upgrade the capabilities of the local workforce and create more than 1,200 jobs in the area.

This landmark investment by a global giant not only reflects strong foreign investor confidence in Thailand but also proves WHAID’s success in driving industrial estates under the “Smart Eco-Industrial Estate Concept.” By seamlessly combining smart infrastructure, digital technology, and sustainable environmental management, WHAID creates a business ecosystem ready for advanced industries.
