3 Rs

Implementing the 3Rs will help reduce production costs, increase competitiveness, and reduce the negative impact on the environment and local communities.

Applying the 3Rs to manage waste in the factory begins with operational commitment. Guidelines and goals should then be established and operations must be systematically managed. This should be followed by continuous monitoring and evaluation.

  1. Reduce – Produce less waste and decrease the use of unnecessary resources such as switching the use of paper documents to online documents.
  2. Reuse – Using the same resources more than once, for example, using metal water bottles instead of plastic water bottles.
  3. Recycle – Making use of old wastes by separating different kinds of trash and using them again with resources such as paper, plastic, and metal.
