Wetland

30/09/2021

WHA UP, we have incorporated technology into our wastewater treatment process, one of them is through the use of constructed wetland.

The process of this system starts by allowing water to flow into the constructed wetland. Then, the organic matter will sink to the bottom and dissolve through the use of microorganisms that lives on aquatic plants and filter layers. With this system, oxygen will be able to pass through water from the aquatic plants and flow through the filter layers.

The wastewater treatment process not only gets rid of more than 80% of organic matter and suspended solids in the wastewater, but it also reduces over 50% of nitrogen and phosphorus because they can serve as nutrients to the aquatic plants. For example, once nitrogen goes through the nitrification process, it will turn into nitrate which is a nutrient that the plants can use as an energy source.
