Continental Expands Manufacturing Capacity at WHA ESIE 4 Reinforcing Confidence in Thailand and WHA Group’s Integrated Solutions for Future Industries

WHA Corporation PCL. (WHA Group) congratulates Continental Tyres (Thailand) Co.,Ltd. (Continental) on the official opening of its expanded tire manufacturing facility in Rayong Province and the launch of its motorcycle radial tire production line at WHA Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate 4 (WHA ESIE 4), Rayong. This milestone further strengthens Thailand’s position as a regional hub for the automotive and advanced manufacturing industries in the Asia-Pacific region.

The expansion project represents an investment of more than EUR 300 million, or approximately THB 13 billion. The project will increase annual production capacity for passenger car and light truck tires by an additional three million units while creating approximately 600 new jobs. It also marks the commencement of motorcycle radial tire manufacturing in Thailand, supporting growing demand across the Asia-Pacific market and enhancing Continental’s regional production network.

Continental is one of the leading investors operating within WHA ESIE 4, which is developed and managed by WHA Industrial Development PCL. (WHAID), one of WHA Group’s core businesses. Located within Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), the industrial estate benefits from investment promotion by the Board of Investment (BOI) and offers world-class infrastructure, logistics connectivity, and a business environment designed to support the growth of future industries.

Beyond the industrial estate’s strategic location and infrastructure, Continental also benefits from utility and energy solutions provided by WHA Utilities and Power PLC. (WHAUP). As another core business of WHA Group, WHAUP delivers integrated water and energy solutions that enhance operational efficiency while supporting customers’ sustainability goals.

Today, Continental’s Rayong facility utilizes WHAUP’s renewable energy solutions with a total installed capacity of 7.62 megawatts. The system incorporates four solar technologies, including Solar Floating, Solar Rooftop, Solar Carport, and Solar Farm solutions. These renewable energy systems help increase the use of clean energy, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and improve the plant’s long-term energy efficiency, reflecting the shared commitment of both companies to sustainable business operations and environmental stewardship.

Continental’s latest expansion underscores both the company’s confidence in Thailand’s investment potential and WHA Group’s ability to deliver integrated infrastructure and industrial solutions. Through the combined strengths of its industrial development, utilities, and power businesses, WHA Group supports the growth of global manufacturers by providing comprehensive solutions that enhance operational performance while reducing environmental impact. Continental’s continued investment at WHA ESIE 4, together with its adoption of WHAUP’s water and clean energy solutions, highlights the role of WHA Group in strengthening Thailand’s competitiveness and advancing its vision of “WHA: SHAPE THE FUTURE FOR THAILAND.”
