On September 23, 2025, Ms. Jareeporn Jarukornsakul, Chairman of the Executive Committee and Group Chief Executive Officer of WHA Corporation Public Company Limited (WHA Group), along with executives from WHA Industrial Development Public Company Limited (WHAID), Mr. Pajongwit Pongsivapai, Chief Executive Officer, and
Ms. Ladda Rojanavilaivudh, Chief Commercial Officer, attended the grand opening of the air conditioner manufacturing plant of Haier Appliances Manufacturing (Thailand) Co., Ltd. at WHA Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate 3 (WHA ESIE3), Nong Yai District, Chonburi Province.

The event was also honored by Mr. Chuan Leekpai, former Prime Minister, Mr. Akanat Promphan, former Minister of Industry, Mr. Zeng Zanrong, Party Secretary of the Communist Party of China in Qingdao, and Mr. Zhou Yunjie, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Haier Group, who attended the opening ceremony.

This integrated air conditioner manufacturing plant is the largest air conditioner manufacturing plant base in ASEAN, with a maximum production capacity of over 6 million units per year. It is the part of Haier's over 10-billion-Baht investment in Thailand to meet the demands of modern manufacturing through smart manufacturing technology and modern management systems.

The investment is aligned with Thailand’s New S-Curve strategy and the Thailand 4.0 policy, aimed at upgrading the country’s manufacturing industry to international standards and enhancing global competitiveness. In addition, the plant will create more than 3,000 jobs, support the local economy, and further strengthen Thailand’s role as ASEAN’s electrical appliance manufacturing hub for exports to regional, Middle Eastern, and Eastern European markets.

The plant is located on a 324,000-square-meter area within WHA ESIE3, a strategic location in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). It is equipped with comprehensive infrastructure and advanced environmental management systems under the Smart ECO Industrial Estate concept, enhancing production capacity to serve both domestic and export markets while strengthening Thailand’s position as an ASEAN electrical appliance manufacturing hub and boosting its global competitiveness.

Ms. Jareeporn Jarukornsakul, Chairman of the Executive Committee and Group CEO of WHA Corporation PCL, remarked: “Haier’s decision to choose Thailand as its main production base in ASEAN reflects Thailand’s strong potential and readiness – from its strategic location to world-class infrastructure and utility management systems. At WHA, we are proud to support this success through our “Smart ECO Industrial Estate” model, which combines technology with sustainability to elevate Thailand’s industry towards the future. This is fully aligned with our mission: WHA – WE SHAPE THE FUTURE.”

This landmark investment also symbolizes the strength of Thailand–China cooperation, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
